In an effort to maintain a welcoming community for our businesses, residents and visitors,
ALL property owners are required to maintain their property.

A Noxious Weed Public Notice is published in March of every year to give property owners notification of the enforcement of our Noxious Weed Ordinance.  The Charter Township of Washington has scheduled maintenance and inspection dates for vacant lots under three (3) acres.

The Commissioner of Noxious Weeds is in charge of the enforcement of the Noxious Weed Ordinance.  The DPW Field Operations Manager oversees the inspections and the maintenance of vacant lots and foreclosed homes in the Township.

If you have a Noxious Weed Complaint you must complete an Ordinance Complaint Form and email the form to Sara Miller. When you complete this form make sure to include your name and phone number so we can contact you if necessary.

At the beginning of each season, letters are mailed to some property owners.

Non-receipt of the letter does not relieve property owners of their requirement to maintain their properties.
