It is essential that Washington Township public water customers comply with these watering restrictions to limit future water rate increases from the Great Lakes Water Authority.

Residents who ignore these restrictions will be committing a misdemeanor and may be issued a ticket.

These restrictions have been adopted in order to receive the best rates possible for public water customers.

-----------------------------------------------------

The cost Washington Township pays for actual water consumption is based on the three factors: our peak hour usage, our max day usage, and our pressure demands.  Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) reviews these factors annually to determine our rates.

Compliance with the  Washington Township mandatory watering restrictions in the summer helps us to avoid GLWA public water rate increases due to WHEN we use the water.
