The Treasurer's Office is responsible for collecting and investing all the account receivables due to the Township.  Tax revenues, along with the Library, STAR, Parks & Recreation, Fire, and Advanced Life Support, Police, State Education Tax, Romeo, Rochester, and Utica School Districts, Macomb & Oakland ISD, Macomb College, and various special assessments are also billed and collected here.  Water and Sewer bills are also collected at the Treasurer's office.

The Treasurer, by statute, is required to collect and take charge of the funds that belong to the Township.  The Treasurer is also to distribute and account for all moneys according to law or Township Board decision.  Washington Township has adopted an investment policy that is certified by the Association of Public Treasurer's, United States and Canada.  This investment policy is directed by Public Act 20 to keep your tax dollars in the safest investment vehicles on the market.

All questions concerning taxes, the receipt of Township funds,  and special assessment district payments should be directed to the Treasurer's Office.  Summer taxes are payable July 1 through September 14, and Winter taxes are payable December 1 through the last day of February.  These payments may be made at the Treasurer's Department, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or at local banks.  A Drop Box is also available at the front entrance to the Township Hall. Sewer and Water bills are also payable at the Treasurer's office.  (Closed for Legal Holidays)

Payments can be made with check or cash.  At this time, we do not accept credit cards.
