Stop in and take a look!

The Greater Washington Area Historical Society held an assembly on Friday, March 3rd, at the Washington Elementary School to announce the winners of the 12th "Ron Gordon Memorial George Washington Art Contest". The third-grade winner was Isabella Halloran, the fourth-grade winner was Luke Fournier, and the fifth-grade winner was Isabelle Siegle. The grand prize winner was Isabelle Siegle. The winners each received a gift card from Barnes & Noble, a presidents' activity book, and a commemorative coin. After the assembly, the 27 finalists from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes went to the Washington Museum for a pizza lunch and tour of the museum. This was the first year since 2020 that this event was held because of the pandemic. Although George Washington's birthday was on February 22nd, our celebrations were late due to winter break and winter weather!
