Mining (Soil Removal)
Washington Township's Ordinance is designed to preserve and protect the public health, safety and welfare of persons and property residing and located in the township against public nuisances and/or hazardous conditions resulting from soil removal operations. Soil Removal Ordinance is available for review here as well as on Municode.
Applications for Soil Removal are available on this site as well as the renewal applications for approved mining operations.
The Planning Commission approval and Township Board approval may be required for new sites.
