Poll Workers

Serving as an Election Inspector is a great opportunity to help your community and become a part of the democratic process.  There is no experience required and each position is entitled to compensation.  Working hours begin at 6:00am -  8:30pm (after your precinct is balanced) tentatively/depending on the position.

To be an Election Inspector:

  • You must be registered to vote in the state of Michigan
  • You must be at least 18 years of age
  • You must declare a Political Party affiliation
Students 16 and 17 years old who meet all other voter requirements may be appointed as an election inspector.


Pay Scale

Pct. Chairperson $20/Hr
Pct. Co-Chairperson $18/Hr
Inspector $15/Hr
Student Inspector $100/Day
AV Chairperson $20/Hr
AV Co-Chairperson $18/Hr
AV Inspector $15/Hr
Training $20/Class
On-Call $20/Day
