Maintaining the integrity of our public drinking water system.

when connected to the public water supply you are required by law to have:

1) periodic backflow testing
Per State requirements as of July 31, 2024, all persons testing backflow assemblies are required to have both of the following:
               • Active ASSE 5110 Testers Certification
               • and an Active Plumbing License (Apprentice/Journeyman/Master) 

NOTE: Repairs of any backflow preventers must be completed by a licensed plumber.

2) and, periodic cross connection inspections
Cross Connection inspections may be completed by a Washington Township Cross Connection Control Inspector who ensures that the proper backflow prevention devices are in place to protect the public water supply.
